School Site Council

Wasco High School participates in several state and federally funded school programs. These funds are an important part of our school because they provide supplemental services and instructional materials for students that are not available through regular district money.

Schools which receive these funds must ensure that parents have a voice in how the supplemental state and federal funding is spent. Therefore, a School Site Council (SSC), made up of parents, students, and school staff is formed. The council meets approximately six times during the school year. Council members learn how to be an effective member, how the school operates, and how their child benefits from supplemental state and federal funding. Members also play an active role in the development of the Single School Plan for Student Achievement as well as participate in the school improvement process.
