ALLIED HEALTH

Now offered at Wasco High School

 

The Allied Health Sciences major provides rigorous curriculum, but also offers career development opportunities through partnerships with local, community-based organizations and public agencies.

Allied Health is the science and art of creating healthy communities through education, research, and promotion of healthy lifestyles. Classes will include an introduction to Allied Health and will build upon science, statistics, and general education classes.

Allied Health Sciences careers include, but are not limited to:

Patient Health Navigator, Health Education Outreach, Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Health Services, Environmental Health, Behavioral Health and Occupational Health

 

Skill competencies include knowledge of public health models, health risk assessments, health screenings, health promotion programming, and surveillance of disease outbreaks in a community.

 

Students may earn a Health Navigation Certificate of Achievement.  Career Pathway aligned to AS degree in Allied Health Science at BC.  Prerequisite for Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN).
