What are CTE and Early College?
Career and Technical Education (CTE) and Early College are programs of study that involve a multiyear sequence of courses that integrate core academic knowledge with technical and occupation knowledge to provide students with a pathway to postsecondary education and careers. They are however distinct educational pathways in that they are focused on different aspects of student development and career preparation. CTE emphasizes practical, hands-on training in specific career fields, while Early College allows high school students to earn college credit, potentially leading to an associate's degree or advanced standing in a bachelor's program.
